The HERTEL H-81185045400 is a combination drill and countersink designed for simultaneous drilling and countersinking in a single operation. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, this tool delivers clean results in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It carries a trade size of 4-1/2 with a 3/8 inch body diameter, a 9/64 inch drill point diameter, and a 118-degree drill point angle. The 60-degree included angle handles standard countersink profiles. At 4 inches overall length, the long-length design provides additional reach for deeper setups or confined access locations. Machinists, tool-and-die workers, and fabricators use this tool in drill presses, lathes, and CNC machining centers.
This combo drill countersink fits general machining, fabrication, and metalworking applications where a pilot hole and countersink must be produced in one pass. The plain cutting edge style suits a wide range of materials including mild steel, aluminum, and similar workpieces. The double end type extends usable tool life. It is a long-length tool, making it appropriate when standard-length tooling lacks the reach required by the workpiece geometry or fixture setup. Sold individually, this is a direct bench or tool crib replacement for shops maintaining standard HSS countersink inventory.
Designed as a direct replacement or stock item for machining and fabrication shops requiring a trade size 4-1/2 combination drill and countersink with a 3/8 inch body diameter in high-speed steel.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel. Secure the tool firmly in the appropriate collet or chuck before operation, and verify runout before cutting. Always power down and lock out the machine before changing tooling. Follow applicable shop safety and OSHA machining standards when operating drill presses, lathes, or CNC equipment.
