The HERTEL GH070032 is a square end mill designed for material removal and profiling operations in machining applications. Built from M7 high speed steel with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, this centercutting tool handles slotting, peripheral milling, and plunge cuts in a wide range of workpiece materials. It features a 42-degree helix angle with a spiral flute geometry, promoting efficient chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces. With a 0.5 inch diameter and 1.25 inch length of cut, it suits precision milling work performed on manual mills and CNC machining centers. Installation and use are handled by machinists and tooling specialists in job shop and production environments.
This end mill is suited for general-purpose milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The regular-length configuration and 0.5 inch shank diameter make it compatible with standard collet chucks and end mill holders commonly found in vertical milling machines and machining centers. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation follow the most common toolholder and spindle configurations in production and prototype machining settings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use end mill compatible with standard 0.5 inch collet chucks and end mill holders used in vertical machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation is performed by a machinist or tooling technician. Always secure the shank fully in the toolholder to the recommended grip depth before tightening. Inspect the collet or end mill holder for runout and wear before mounting. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when setting tool offsets and spindle speeds.
