The HERTEL GH03211619 is a single-end, square-profile end mill designed for milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Built from M7 high speed steel and finished with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, it delivers improved surface hardness and extended tool life compared to uncoated HSS tooling. The cutter measures 1-1/4 inches in diameter with a 1-3/4 inch length of cut, a 3/4 inch shank diameter, and a 4 inch overall length. Six right-hand spiral flutes at a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and a smooth finish on conventional milling passes. This tool is sized for use in vertical mills, knee mills, and machining centers where a standard-length, large-diameter end mill is required.
Suited for peripheral milling, slotting, and side milling operations in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments. The 3/4 inch shank fits standard R8, CAT, BT, and straight-bore collet holders common to bridgeport-style mills and CNC machining centers. Right-hand cutting direction is compatible with standard spindle rotation on the majority of vertical milling machines. The regular-length configuration keeps tool deflection manageable at this diameter. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in steel, cast iron, and alloy materials will find this a direct-to-spindle working tool for roughing and semi-finishing cuts.
Designed as a standard-shank replacement end mill for vertical mills, knee mills, and CNC machining centers accepting a 3/4 inch straight shank. Confirm collet or holder bore size before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel. Power down and lock out the spindle drive before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Seat the shank fully in the collet or end mill holder to the manufacturer-recommended engagement depth and torque the drawbar or set screws per the machine tool specifications. Because this tool is non-centercutting, do not program direct axial plunge moves -- use ramping or helical entry paths instead.
