The HERTEL GG99914238 is a 2-flute high speed steel keyway end mill designed for milling keyways, slots, and profiles in metalworking applications. With a 0.75-inch cutting diameter and a 1.3125-inch length of cut, this centercutting end mill can plunge directly into material as well as perform conventional side and slot milling. The 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The uncoated HSS construction suits a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials in general machining environments. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on manual mills or CNC machining centers are the primary installers and operators of this tool.
This end mill is suited for keyway cutting, slot milling, and profiling operations in job shops, maintenance facilities, and production environments. The centercutting geometry allows entry from the surface without a pre-drilled hole, making it practical for blind keyway applications and step milling. The 0.75-inch shank diameter fits standard R8, CAT, or other toolholders sized for 0.75-inch shanks, and the 3.5625-inch overall length provides adequate reach for most standard workholding setups. General machining of steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar materials falls within the intended use range of this tool.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or production end mill for manual mills, knee mills, and CNC machining centers using standard 0.75-inch diameter toolholders.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Secure the shank fully within the toolholder collet or end mill holder to the recommended engagement depth per the toolholder manufacturer. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before use, and confirm the correct spindle speed and feed rate for the workpiece material before engaging the cut.
