The HERTEL GG99914225 is a 2-flute, high speed steel keyway end mill designed for precise milling of keyways, slots, and pockets in metal workpieces. With a 0.125-inch cutting diameter and a 0.375-inch length of cut, this tool handles light-duty slotting and profiling operations where dimensional accuracy is critical. The uncoated HSS construction provides reliable performance across a range of common ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Center-cutting geometry allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece without a pre-drilled pilot hole. Machinists and tooling specialists use this end mill in manual mills, knee mills, and CNC machining centers for keyway and slot work requiring a small-diameter tool.
This end mill is suited for job shops, maintenance machining, and production environments where small-diameter slotting operations are routine. The 0.375-inch shank diameter provides secure chuck or collet retention, and the 30-degree helix angle promotes chip evacuation during climb and conventional milling passes. The 2-5/16-inch overall length gives adequate reach for most standard setups without sacrificing rigidity at this diameter. It is appropriate for use in both horizontal and vertical milling setups on steel, aluminum, brass, and similar materials when used within the recommended speed and feed parameters for HSS tooling.
Designed as a standard keyway end mill for use in milling machines accepting a 0.375-inch shank via collet, end mill holder, or keyless chuck.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before loading or changing tooling. Seat the shank fully and evenly in the collet or holder to the recommended engagement depth before tightening. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating, as excessive runout at this diameter will accelerate tool wear and degrade slot tolerances.
