The HERTEL GG99914126 is a square end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in metal-cutting applications. Manufactured from M7 high speed steel, this tool features a 1.75-inch cutting diameter and a 1.625-inch length of cut, making it well-suited for slotting, peripheral milling, and profiling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 30-degree helix spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation and helps reduce cutting forces during operation. With a 0.75-inch shank diameter and 3.875-inch overall length, this end mill fits standard milling chucks and collet systems used in manual and CNC milling machines. It runs with right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction.
This end mill is appropriate for job shops, tool rooms, and maintenance machining environments where HSS tooling is preferred over carbide for interrupted cuts or applications that benefit from greater toughness. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece without a pre-drilled hole. With two flutes, the tool provides ample chip clearance for slotting and full-width cuts, which is especially useful in softer alloys and low-rigidity setups where recutting chips is a concern. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC operators in production and prototype machining contexts.
Designed for use in standard milling machine spindles and CNC machining centers accepting a 0.75-inch straight shank via collet, end mill holder, or milling chuck.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine powered off and the spindle fully stopped before tooling changes. Ensure the shank is fully seated and securely clamped in the holder to the minimum engagement depth recommended by the toolholder manufacturer. Verify spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and depth of cut before engaging the tool. Do not exceed the tool length of cut when setting axial depth of cut, as cutting beyond the flute length risks deflection and tool damage.
