The HERTEL GG021024 is a single-end ball end mill designed for contour milling, slotting, and profiling operations on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Manufactured from M7 high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, this tool delivers reliable performance in general-purpose machining applications. The 0.375-inch cutting diameter pairs with a 1.5-inch length of cut and a 30-degree helix angle across four spiral flutes, providing efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this end mill in standard CNC mills, manual knee mills, and machining centers requiring a 3/8-inch shank.
This end mill is suited for job shops, tool rooms, and production environments handling light to medium-duty milling tasks. Typical applications include 3D contouring, radius slotting, and pocket milling in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar materials. The right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with conventional spindle-forward setups. Its single-end configuration keeps the tool length manageable in tight setups while the 3.25-inch overall length provides adequate reach for most standard workholding arrangements.
Designed as a standard 3/8-inch shank ball end mill compatible with collet chucks, end mill holders, and milling machine spindles accepting 3/8-inch shanks in CNC and manual milling setups.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and de-energize the machine spindle completely before inserting or removing tooling. Secure the shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer guidelines. Inspect the cutting edges and shank for nicks or runout before beginning a cut, and confirm spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material before engaging the tool.
