The HERTEL EG250048 is a single-end ball end mill designed for contour milling, profiling, and 3D surfacing in metalworking applications. Built from solid carbide, it delivers the rigidity and wear resistance required for cutting ferrous and non-ferrous alloys at elevated feeds and speeds. The tool measures 0.75 inches in diameter with a 1.5-inch length of cut and a 4-inch overall length. A TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating reduces friction and extends tool life in abrasive materials. Four right-hand flutes with a right-hand cutting direction provide efficient chip evacuation and a smooth finish on finished surfaces. This mill is suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills operated by skilled machinists and toolmakers.
This end mill is intended for use in job shops, tool rooms, and production machining environments where precision contouring and die or mold work are common. The 0.75-inch shank diameter provides a secure fit in standard ER or end mill holders. The 1.5-inch length of cut accommodates moderate-depth profiling passes without excessive tool deflection. The TiCN coating makes it particularly effective in hardened steels, cast iron, and stainless steel applications where heat generation and abrasion are concerns.
Designed for use in standard end mill holders and ER collet chucks accepting a 0.75-inch shank diameter. Suitable for CNC machining centers and manual vertical mills configured for right-hand cutting tools.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the minimum insertion depth recommended by the holder manufacturer before torquing the drawbar or collet nut. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for chips or damage before each use; a damaged carbide tool should not be placed in service.
