The HERTEL EG062016 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. With a 0.25 inch cutting diameter and a 1.5 inch length of cut, this single-end mill handles contouring, slotting, and profiling passes where a ball nose geometry is required. The 4-flute configuration provides a balance of chip clearance and cutting edge strength, while the TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating improves hardness and wear resistance compared to uncoated carbide. This tool is typically installed and used by machinists and tool-and-die technicians in CNC machining centers and manual milling applications.
This ball end mill is suited for milling ferrous and non-ferrous metals including alloy steels, cast iron, aluminum alloys, and hardened materials where a TiCN coating provides adequate lubricity and heat resistance. With a 0.25 inch shank diameter matching the cutting diameter, it fits standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling systems common in production and job-shop environments. The right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute spiral make it compatible with conventional CNC spindle rotation on vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Designed as a standard 0.25 inch shank ball end mill compatible with ER collets, end mill holders, and other toolholding systems accepting a 0.25 inch round shank across vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating in the collet or holder before beginning a cut. Follow the tool manufacturer and machine builder guidelines for appropriate speeds, feeds, and depth-of-cut parameters for the workpiece material.
