The HERTEL EG060048 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. With a 0.75 inch cutting diameter and a 2.25 inch length of cut, this single-end tool delivers aggressive material removal in a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The four-flute geometry provides a balance of chip evacuation and surface finish quality. A titanium carbonitride (TiCN) coating increases surface hardness and wear resistance, extending tool life in abrasive or high-speed cutting conditions. This tool is intended for use by machinists and toolroom professionals operating CNC machining centers or manual knee mills.
This ball end mill is suited for contour milling, die and mold work, and profiling operations where a full-radius cutting profile is required. The right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute spiral make it compatible with standard CNC spindle configurations. The 0.75 inch shank diameter fits ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders commonly found in production and job-shop environments. It is well matched to roughing and semi-finishing passes in alloy steels, stainless steels, and hardened materials where TiCN coating performance is an advantage.
Designed as a direct-fit solid carbide ball end mill for standard 0.75 inch end mill holders, ER collet chucks, and shrink-fit tooling systems used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the recommended gauge-line depth and torque the retention screw or collet nut per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout will accelerate tool wear and degrade surface finish.
