The HERTEL EF99921326 is a double-end square end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from high speed steel with a titanium carbonitride (TiCN) coating, it delivers improved wear resistance and lubricity compared to uncoated HSS tooling. The 0.5-inch cutting diameter pairs with a 30-degree spiral helix and two flutes for efficient chip evacuation. Centercutting geometry allows plunge milling as well as peripheral cuts. This tool is sized for use in manual knee mills, CNC machining centers, and bench-top milling setups requiring a standard 0.5-inch shank.
Suited for job shops, toolrooms, and maintenance machining environments, this end mill handles slotting, profiling, and plunge operations on mild steel, aluminum, brass, and similar workpiece materials. The double-end configuration extends the usable life of the tool, making it a practical choice for high-volume repetitive work or facilities looking to reduce per-cut tooling cost. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry match the standard spindle rotation found on most vertical milling machines.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling selection for milling machines and machining centers accepting a 0.5-inch shank end mill.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or tool holder and torque the retention mechanism to the machine manufacturer specification. Inspect the TiCN coating and cutting edges before each use and remove the tool from service if chipping or excessive flank wear is observed.
