The HERTEL E8053048 is a double-end, square-profile end mill designed for milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from M7 high speed steel with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, it provides increased surface hardness and improved wear resistance over uncoated HSS tooling. The cutter measures 3/4 inches in diameter with a 1-5/8 inch length of cut, a matching 3/4 inch shank diameter, and a 5-5/8 inch overall length. Four right-hand spiral flutes at a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation. Centercutting geometry allows plunge entry as well as conventional side milling and slotting. Machinists and tool-and-die tradespeople use this tool in manual and CNC milling setups.
This end mill is suited for general-purpose milling in job shops, maintenance departments, and production environments. The double-end configuration extends tool life by providing two usable cutting ends before the tool is retired. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional milling machine spindles. The 30-degree helix angle balances cutting forces for stable performance across a range of work materials including mild steel, alloy steel, aluminum, and plastics. Typical applications include profiling, slotting, and peripheral milling at moderate depths of cut.
Designed for use in standard milling machine collet chucks, end mill holders, and CNC tool holders accepting a 3/4 inch straight shank. Compatible with manual knee mills and CNC machining centers running right-hand spindle rotation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the cutter. Seat the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the holder to prevent pullout under cutting loads. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear before each use, and do not exceed the rated length-of-cut range of 1.5 to 2.0 inches for this tool diameter class.
