The HERTEL E8050022 is a double-end, two-flute square end mill designed for general-purpose milling in a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from M7 high speed steel and coated with Titanium Nitride (TiN), it delivers improved wear resistance and surface finish compared to uncoated HSS tooling. The 11/32 inch (0.3438 inches) cutting diameter pairs with a 9/16 inch (0.5625 inches) length of cut, making it well suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in shallow to moderate depth applications. The 30-degree right-hand spiral helix promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. At 0.08 pounds, it is a lightweight tool that handles well in both manual and CNC setups.
This end mill is intended for use in machine shops, tool rooms, and production environments where a compact, double-end HSS tool is preferred for cost efficiency. The 3/8 inch shank diameter fits standard collets and end mill holders commonly found on knee mills, vertical machining centers, and CNC routers. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry as well as conventional ramping and helical interpolation strategies. It is appropriate for machinists, toolmakers, and CNC operators working with mild steel, aluminum, brass, and similar machinable materials.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard-stock cutting tool for use in any milling machine or machining center equipped with a 3/8 inch collet, end mill holder, or compatible toolholding system.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator following standard toolholding procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool. Secure the shank to the full recommended insertion depth in the holder to prevent pullout under cutting loads. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning production cuts, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear and reduces surface finish quality.
