The HERTEL E8032052 is a single-end square end mill designed for milling operations in metal fabrication and machining environments. Built from M7 high speed steel and finished with a TiN (titanium nitride) coating, this tool delivers extended tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous cutting applications. The cutter measures 13/16 inches (0.8125 inches) in diameter with a 1-7/8 inches length of cut and a 4 inches overall length. Six right-hand flutes and a right-hand cutting direction provide smooth chip evacuation and surface finish in standard milling passes. This end mill is installed and operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on vertical mills, CNC machining centers, and manual knee mills.
This end mill is suited for side milling, slotting, and profile milling in ferrous metals, alloy steels, and similar materials where high speed steel tooling is appropriate. The 5/8 inches shank diameter fits standard ER and side-lock toolholders common to bridgeport-style and CNC vertical machining centers. The non-centercutting geometry means this tool is intended for side milling and slotting rather than plunge cuts. It is a practical general-purpose choice for job shops and production environments running moderate feeds and speeds on conventional or CNC equipment.
Designed as a standard-shank single-end square end mill with a 5/8 inches shank diameter, compatible with toolholders and collet chucks sized for 5/8 inches straight shanks on vertical mills and CNC machining centers.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom professional. Secure the shank fully into the toolholder to the recommended engagement depth before tightening — do not grip on the fluted cutting section. Verify spindle runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on multi-flute tooling. Always confirm the machine is in a locked-out, de-energized state before changing tools.
