The HERTEL E8031052 is a single-end square end mill designed for milling flat surfaces, slots, shoulders, and contour profiles in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 0.8125-inch cutting diameter with a 4-flute, high speed steel construction and a titanium nitride (TiN) coating that increases surface hardness and extends tool life in abrasive applications. The 0.75-inch shank diameter provides a rigid connection to standard tool holders, and the 1.875-inch length of cut accommodates moderate-depth passes. Machinists and tool room operators working in job shops, maintenance environments, or production settings will find this end mill suited to conventional milling operations on manual or CNC equipment.
This end mill is suited for use on vertical milling machines, knee mills, and CNC machining centers where a 3/4-inch collet, end mill holder, or Weldon-flat holder is available. The 4-flute design supports better surface finish and increased feed rates compared to 2-flute styles, making it appropriate for finishing passes and light-to-moderate material removal in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar workpiece materials. The non-centercutting geometry means this tool is intended for peripheral and slot milling rather than direct plunge cuts.
Designed for use in standard 3/4-inch end mill holders, collet chucks, and Weldon-flat tool holders on vertical mills and CNC machining centers. Compatible within the 1.5-inch to 2.0-inch length-of-cut range application class.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for tool holding and runout verification. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the end mill from the holder. Verify the shank is fully seated to the recommended engagement depth in the holder before torquing set screws. Non-centercutting tools must not be used for direct axial plunge cuts without a pre-drilled entry point.
