The HERTEL E8030908 is a square-end, single-end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Ground from M7 high speed steel and coated with a titanium nitride (TiN) finish, it delivers good wear resistance and heat tolerance across a range of cutting conditions. The 1-inch cutting diameter pairs with a 1-1/2-inch length of cut, a 5/8-inch shank, and a 3-5/8-inch overall length. The 30-degree spiral flute geometry promotes chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. With two flutes and a centercutting design, this tool handles full-slot cuts, plunge entry, and profile milling without a pilot hole.
This end mill is suited for use in manual knee mills, CNC machining centers, and tool-room lathes with milling attachments. It is appropriate for roughing and finishing passes in mild steel, alloy steel, aluminum, and similar materials. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration fits standard spindle rotation. Its regular-length geometry makes it a practical choice for general shop use where extended reach is not required. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and maintenance technicians working in production or job-shop environments will find this a straightforward workhorse cutter.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling addition for any milling machine or machining center accepting a 5/8-inch straight shank end mill holder, collet chuck, or side-lock arbor.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician using a compatible end mill holder or collet rated for the 5/8-inch shank diameter. Ensure the spindle and machine are fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the holder and torque the set screw or collet nut per the holder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use.
