The HERTEL E803011603 is a single-end square end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in metal cutting environments. Built from M7 high speed steel and finished with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, it delivers extended tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous machining applications. The cutter features a 1-1/4 inch diameter, a 1-1/2 inch length of cut, and a 30-degree helix angle with two right-hand spiral flutes. It is center-cutting, meaning it can plunge directly into a workpiece. The 3/4 inch shank diameter fits standard milling machine and machining center collets and tool holders. This end mill is installed and used by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC machine operators.
This end mill is suited for peripheral milling, slotting, and profiling operations on steel, cast iron, and similar materials. The TiN coating reduces friction and increases surface hardness compared to uncoated HSS tooling, making it appropriate for moderate-speed cutting without flood coolant in many setups. It fits production shops, maintenance machining, and job-shop environments where a versatile, mid-range diameter end mill is required. The right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute orientation are standard for conventional vertical and horizontal milling machine setups.
Designed as a standard-shank square end mill compatible with milling machines, VMCs, and HMCs equipped with collet chucks or end mill holders accepting a 3/4 inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before loading or removing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the holder and torque set screws or collet nuts to the tool holder specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, and confirm spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and tool diameter before engaging the cutter.
