The HERTEL E8030008 is a single-end square end mill designed for milling flat surfaces, slots, shoulders, and contour profiles in a wide range of workpiece materials. It measures 0.125 inches in cutting diameter with a 0.375-inch length of cut and a 0.375-inch shank diameter, giving an overall length of 2.3125 inches. Constructed from M7-grade high speed steel and coated with a titanium nitride (TiN) finish, it offers solid wear resistance for general-purpose machining applications. The two-flute, spiral geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation during cutting operations. Installed by machinists and toolroom technicians, this end mill fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders.
This end mill is suited for use in manual mills, CNC machining centers, and knee mills where a small-diameter tool is required. The 0.125-inch diameter makes it appropriate for fine detail work, narrow slot cutting, and precision profiling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The regular-length configuration and centercutting capability allow both peripheral milling and plunge operations in a single tool. It is commonly used in job shops, maintenance and repair operations, and light production environments.
Designed as a standard single-end square end mill with a 0.375-inch shank diameter, compatible with collet chucks, end mill holders, and tool holders sized for 3/8-inch shank tooling on manual and CNC milling machines.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the milling machine spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before installing or changing tooling. Secure the shank fully within the collet or holder to the manufacturer-recommended engagement depth and verify runout before beginning a cut. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine tool manufacturer guidelines for tool holding and speeds and feeds.
