The HERTEL E7110048 is a single-end ball end mill designed for contouring, profiling, and 3D milling operations in ferrous and hardened materials. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it carries a TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating that extends tool life by reducing heat buildup and improving wear resistance at the cutting edge. The mill measures 0.75 inches in diameter with a 1.625-inch length of cut and a 3.875-inch overall length. Two right-hand flutes with a right-hand cutting direction provide efficient chip evacuation in typical milling applications. This tool is suited for use in manual mills and CNC machining centers where a robust cobalt substrate is preferred over carbide.
This ball end mill is appropriate for job shops, tool rooms, and production environments handling steel, stainless, and other demanding materials. Its 0.75-inch shank diameter is a standard size that seats directly in common end mill holders, collet chucks, and shrink-fit tooling without adapters. The TiCN coating makes it well-suited for dry or minimal-lubrication cutting passes where surface hardness and heat resistance are priorities. Machinists performing die work, mold finishing, or radius profiling will find the 1.625-inch length of cut adequate for moderate-depth passes.
Designed as a standard 0.75-inch shank single-end ball end mill compatible with end mill holders, R8 collets, CAT, BT, and HSK tooling systems that accept a 0.75-inch straight shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before seating or removing the tool. Secure the shank to the recommended engagement depth in the holder and torque the retention hardware per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for chips or damage before each use.
