The HERTEL E703004806 is a cobalt square end mill designed for milling ferrous and high-temperature alloy materials in demanding machining environments. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and coated with titanium carbonitride (TiCN), it delivers improved wear resistance and heat tolerance compared to uncoated HSS tooling. The cutter measures 3/4 inches in diameter with a 1-5/16 inch length of cut and a 3-9/16 inch overall length. With 2 flutes and a 30-degree right-hand spiral helix, it is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations where chip evacuation and surface finish matter. The shank diameter matches the cutter diameter at 3/4 inches for direct collet or end mill holder mounting.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers, knee mills, and manual milling machines operating on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar materials. Its centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, expanding its usefulness in die work, mold making, and general production machining. The regular-length configuration suits standard depth-of-cut requirements without the deflection concerns associated with extended-reach tooling. It is a single-end tool appropriate for professional machinists in job shops, maintenance facilities, and production environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use cobalt end mill for standard 3/4 inch end mill holders, collet chucks, and milling machine spindles accepting 3/4 inch round shanks.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the end mill. Seat the shank fully into the holder and torque set screws or collet nuts per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the cutting edges and TiCN coating for chips or wear before each use, and replace the tool at the first sign of edge failure to prevent workpiece damage or holder wear.
