The HERTEL E7030024 is a 2-flute cobalt square end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating, it delivers improved heat and wear resistance compared to standard HSS tooling. The 0.375-inch cutting diameter pairs with a 0.5625-inch length of cut, giving machinists a short, rigid tool profile suited to slotting, profiling, and light pocketing. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece without pre-drilling. At 0.08 pounds, it is a lightweight, single-end tool sized for benchtop and knee mills as well as CNC machining centers.
This end mill is suited for job shops, tool rooms, and production environments where cobalt tooling is specified for its toughness and elevated-temperature performance. Typical applications include slotting and peripheral milling in steel, stainless, cast iron, and high-temp alloys. The 0.375-inch shank diameter fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders found on most vertical milling machines and machining centers. The 2-flute configuration provides good chip clearance in slotting cuts and softer materials where chip evacuation is a priority.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct tooling option for standard 0.375-inch collet chucks, end mill holders, and milling arbors used in vertical machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator following shop safety procedures. Power down and lock out the spindle before securing or removing the tool from the holder. Ensure the shank is fully seated in the collet or holder to the recommended engagement depth before tightening. Follow the machine manufacturer torque specifications for collet nut tightening, and verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut.
