The HERTEL E6250016 is a single-end ball end mill designed for milling contoured surfaces, cavities, and three-dimensional profiles in metal and composite workpieces. Built from solid carbide, it offers the rigidity and wear resistance needed for demanding cutting applications. The 0.25-inch diameter cutting head features four flutes with a right-hand cutting and flute direction, and the tool carries a TiN (titanium nitride) coating that extends tool life by reducing friction and surface wear at the cutting edge. At 0.05 pounds, it is lightweight and suited to high-speed spindle applications. Machinists and tooling specialists working in CNC machining centers and manual mills will find this tool appropriate for finish and semi-finish passes.
This ball end mill is used in metalworking shops, production machining environments, and toolroom applications where accurate three-dimensional contouring is required. With a 0.75-inch length of cut and a 2.5-inch overall length, it is well suited to moderate-depth cavity work and profiling operations on molds, dies, and machined components. The 0.25-inch shank diameter fits standard collets and end mill holders commonly found in CNC machining centers and knee mills.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide ball end mill for standard 0.25-inch collets and end mill holders used in CNC machining centers and conventional milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully and evenly in the collet or holder and torque the retention nut according to the collet manufacturer's specifications. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, and verify runout with a dial indicator after setup to protect part quality and tool life.
