The HERTEL E6249048 is a single-end ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from solid carbide, it delivers the rigidity and wear resistance required for high-speed profiling, contouring, and slotting applications. The tool carries a TiN (titanium nitride) coating that reduces friction and extends cutting life compared to uncoated tooling. With a 0.75 inch mill diameter and 1.5 inch length of cut, it handles moderate-depth passes with consistent chip evacuation through its 2-flute geometry. A 4 inch overall length and 0.75 inch shank diameter make it compatible with standard end mill holders and collet chucks used in CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is suited for job shop and production machining environments where profile milling, radius features, and 3D contouring are common operations. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction make it the standard choice for conventional CNC setups. It is appropriate for use in steel, aluminum, cast iron, and similar materials at feeds and speeds appropriate to its solid carbide substrate and TiN coating. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in manufacturing, tooling, and maintenance machining are the primary installers and users of this tool.
Designed for use in standard 0.75 inch end mill holders, collet chucks, and shrink-fit toolholders on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills configured for right-hand rotation.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Power down and lock out the spindle before seating or removing the tool from its holder. Ensure the shank is fully engaged to the minimum insertion depth recommended for the holder type in use. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping before beginning a cut; excessive runout accelerates tool wear and degrades surface finish.
