The HERTEL E6249024 is a single-end ball end mill designed for machining contoured surfaces, slots, and complex 3D profiles in a wide range of materials. Built from solid carbide and coated with titanium nitride (TiN), this tool delivers consistent cutting performance and extended tool life compared to uncoated high-speed steel alternatives. The ball nose geometry produces smooth radii at the base of pockets and along curved surfaces. With a 0.375 inch cutting diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 2.5 inch overall length, this end mill suits both roughing and finishing passes where tight tolerances are required. It is installed and operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on CNC mills and manual vertical mills.
This end mill is suited for applications in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments handling ferrous and non-ferrous metals, hardened steels, and engineering plastics. The right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute helix make it compatible with standard CNC spindle rotation. The 0.375 inch shank diameter fits common ER and end mill holders without adapters. Typical applications include cavity milling, die profiling, and contour finishing passes on 3- and 4-axis machining centers.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide ball end mill for use in standard 3/8 inch end mill holders, ER collet chucks, and Weldon-style holders on CNC vertical machining centers and manual mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's setup procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and power is locked out before inserting or removing the tool from any holder. Confirm the shank is fully seated to the recommended engagement depth in the holder before tightening. Follow applicable shop safety and machine guarding requirements when operating at cutting speed.
