The HERTEL E6249010 is a single-end ball end mill designed for precise contour milling, profiling, and 3D surface machining in metal cutting and general machining applications. Ground from solid carbide, this tool delivers rigid performance and long tool life compared to high-speed steel alternatives. The TiN (titanium nitride) coating reduces friction and increases surface hardness, extending wear resistance in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. At 0.1563 inches in diameter with a 0.5625-inch length of cut and a 2-inch overall length, it fits standard CNC machining centers and manual mills using a 3/16-inch collet or toolholder. This is a shop-floor tool installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers.
This ball end mill suits small-feature work in die and mold machining, fixture making, and precision part manufacturing. The 0.1563-inch diameter makes it appropriate for tight-radius profiles and fine detail passes in aluminum, steel, brass, and similar materials. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC spindle rotation. With a 2-flute geometry, it balances chip evacuation and surface finish in both slotting and peripheral milling passes. Typical use is in vertical machining centers or knee mills running at speeds appropriate for carbide tooling in the target material.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide ball end mill for use in CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and similar machine tools equipped with a 3/16-inch collet or toolholder accepting a straight shank end mill.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is secured in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder before tightening. Verify runout after installation and confirm spindle speed and feed rate are set to values appropriate for solid carbide tooling in the workpiece material. Do not exceed the rated length of cut when taking full-depth passes.
