The HERTEL E599924662 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. Built from micrograin carbide, this single-end tool features four flutes with a 30-degree helix angle and a right-hand cutting direction. The centercutting geometry allows for both plunge and peripheral cuts without a pilot hole. With a mill diameter of 0.315 inches (8.00 mm) and a length of cut of 0.7874 inches (20.00 mm), it is suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes where tight tolerances and clean floor geometry are required. Machinists and CNC operators install this tool in standard end mill holders or collet chucks.
This end mill is applied in general-purpose milling of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and composites where an uncoated micrograin carbide substrate provides adequate performance without the added cost of a coating. The regular-length profile keeps the tool rigid during slotting, profiling, and contouring operations on vertical and horizontal machining centers as well as manual knee mills. Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the spindle fully stopped and locked before tool changes. Ensure the shank is fully seated to the recommended gauge line depth in the holder and that collet or set-screw retention is properly torqued per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, and verify spindle speed and feed rate parameters against the workpiece material before starting the cut.
