The HERTEL E599924421 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, alloy, and composite materials. With a 0.25 inch diameter and a 0.625 inch length of cut, this double-end tool delivers two usable cutting ends from a single tool, extending service life and reducing tooling cost per operation. The 4-flute spiral configuration with right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction provides efficient chip evacuation and a consistent finish. At 3.0 inches overall length, it fits standard toolholders used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in both manual and CNC milling applications.
This end mill is suited for contour milling, profiling, slotting, and 3D surface finishing where a ball-nose geometry is required. The uncoated solid carbide construction makes it appropriate for dry or light-lubrication cutting in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where coating interaction is a concern. It is commonly used in job shops, production machining environments, and maintenance shops performing mold, die, and fixture work.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide ball end mill replacement for standard 1/4 inch shank milling applications in CNC and manual machining setups.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine powered down and spindle fully stopped. Ensure the collet or toolholder is clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Verify runout with a dial indicator after mounting to avoid premature tool wear or dimensional error. Follow the machine manufacturer and OSHA guidelines for safe tooling practices.
