The HERTEL E5250010 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composite, and hard-material applications. With a 0.1563-inch cutting diameter and a 4-flute configuration, it delivers smooth surface finishes and efficient chip evacuation in finishing and semi-finishing passes. The ball nose geometry allows contouring, profiling, and 3D surface work in die and mold applications as well as general machining. A 30-degree helix angle reduces cutting forces and supports clean entry into workpiece material. This tool is used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals running CNC mills and machining centers.
The E5250010 is suited for small-feature milling where dimensional accuracy is critical. The 0.5625-inch length of cut accommodates moderate depth-of-cut requirements without excessive tool deflection. With a 3/16-inch shank diameter and a 2-inch overall length, it fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders found on most CNC machining centers. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC spindle setups. Uncoated solid carbide construction makes this end mill a practical choice for shops that run a wide range of materials and prefer to apply their own coatings or use cutting fluid.
Designed as a standard single-end ball nose end mill with a 3/16-inch shank, compatible with collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and end mill holders sized for 3/16-inch shank tooling on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or spindle is locked out before inserting or removing the end mill. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the recommended gauge length and torque the collet nut or set screw per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before starting a production cut, as excessive runout accelerates tool wear and degrades surface finish.
