The HERTEL E5014008 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composites, and engineering plastics. With a 1/8 inch cutting diameter and a 3/4 inch length of cut, this tool is suited for profiling, contouring, and slotting in tight spaces and shallow-to-medium pockets. The 2-flute geometry and 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. The bright/uncoated finish makes it compatible with a wide range of materials where coating interactions are a concern. Machinists and toolroom specialists rely on this end mill for accurate finish passes and detail work on CNC milling centers and manual knee mills.
This end mill is used in job shop, production, and toolroom environments for general-purpose milling applications. The 1/8 inch shank diameter fits standard collets and tool holders on CNC machining centers, CNC routers, and conventional vertical mills. Its single-end configuration and compact overall length of 2-1/4 inches make it practical for setups where clearance is limited. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional spindle rotation. Typical applications include contour milling, radius profiling, and cavity work in ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide ball end mill compatible with standard 1/8 inch collets and tool holders on CNC machining centers, CNC routers, and conventional vertical milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing end mills from the collet or tool holder. Seat the shank to the full recommended insertion depth and torque the collet nut per the tool holder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear before each use, as solid carbide tools are brittle and sensitive to improper handling or excessive runout.
