The HERTEL E4050024 is a double-end cobalt square end mill designed for milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a TiN (titanium nitride) coating, it delivers extended tool life in demanding cutting conditions. The 3/8 inch diameter cutting edge pairs with a 9/16 inch length of cut and a 30-degree helix spiral flute geometry that promotes efficient chip evacuation. With two flutes and a centercutting design, this end mill handles slotting, profiling, and plunge cuts. A licensed machinist or toolroom technician installs and operates this tool in a CNC machining center, knee mill, or manual milling machine.
This end mill suits general-purpose milling applications in job shops, maintenance toolrooms, and production machining environments. The regular-length body keeps the tool rigid during interrupted cuts and full-slot passes. The double-end configuration provides two usable cutting ends, extending the service life per tool. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation make it compatible with standard spindle configurations. Typical applications include shoulder milling, step milling, and peripheral milling in alloy steels, stainless steels, and tool steels where a cobalt substrate outperforms standard HSS.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-application cobalt square end mill for use in standard milling chucks, collet holders, and end mill adapters accepting a 3/8 inch shank diameter.
Installation and use of this end mill should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the 3/8 inch shank fully within the collet or end mill holder to the manufacturer-specified engagement depth before running the spindle. Confirm spindle direction matches the right-hand cut orientation before engaging the workpiece. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use, and never operate a damaged or unbalanced tool at elevated RPM.
