The HERTEL E4041020 is a cobalt square end mill designed for milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers heat and wear resistance that outlasts standard HSS tooling when cutting alloy steels, stainless, and other tough materials. The mill features a 5/16 inch cutting diameter, a 2 inch length of cut, and a TiN (titanium nitride) coating that reduces friction and extends tool life. With 4 flutes and a right-hand cutting and flute direction, it produces a clean finish on a variety of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole.

This end mill is suited for use on vertical machining centers, knee mills, and manual milling machines in job shop, production, and maintenance machining environments. Installation Notes

Installation and tool changes must be performed with the spindle fully stopped and the machine powered down or e-stopped. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder and tighten to the tool holder manufacturer's specified torque range using a calibrated torque wrench where required. Inspect the tool for runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Worn or damaged collets increase runout and accelerate tool wear — replace collets showing visible wear or out-of-round distortion.
