The HERTEL E4030048 is a cobalt square end mill designed for milling operations in ferrous and heat-resistant alloys where high-speed steel would wear prematurely. The cutter measures 0.75 inches in mill diameter with a 1.3125-inch length of cut and a 0.75-inch shank diameter, giving it a compact, rigid profile suited to general-purpose slot milling, side milling, and profiling. Two spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle help evacuate chips efficiently and reduce cutting forces. A titanium nitride (TiN) finish improves surface hardness and extends tool life between regrinds. Centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry without a pilot hole. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC operators in job shops and production environments.
The E4030048 is suited to milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar materials in manual knee mills and CNC vertical machining centers. With a regular-length classification and a 3.4375-inch overall length, it fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders accepting a 0.75-inch shank. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is the standard orientation for conventional and climb milling on most machines. The 30-degree helix provides a good balance between chip flow and radial cutting force for medium-duty applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit cutting tool for any manual or CNC milling machine equipped with an end mill holder, collet chuck, or R8 adapter accepting a 0.75-inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC operator. Secure the shank in a properly sized end mill holder or collet to the torque specification listed by the toolholder manufacturer — do not exceed the holder's rated grip length. Inspect the tool shank and holder bore for chips or burrs before seating. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tools. Do not run this tool in the reverse spindle direction as it is ground for right-hand rotation only.
