The HERTEL E299914065 is a cobalt square end mill built for heavy-duty milling in ferrous and hard materials. With a 2-inch cutting diameter, 8 flutes, and a 4-inch length of cut, this tool is suited for slotting, peripheral milling, and profiling applications where rigidity and heat resistance are priorities. The M42 cobalt grade provides elevated hardness and red-hardness compared to standard HSS, making it a reliable choice when cutting speeds and feed rates push conventional tooling. The bright, uncoated finish works well across a range of general-purpose milling operations without the added cost of a surface coating.
This end mill fits horizontal and vertical knee mills, bed mills, and CNC machining centers where a 1.25-inch shank toolholder is available. The long-series length of cut at 4 inches accommodates deeper pockets and tall workpiece features that standard-length end mills cannot reach. It is right-hand cut with right-hand flute direction and a 30-degree helix angle. The non-centercutting geometry means it is intended for side milling and peripheral passes rather than direct plunge entry. Machine shops, tool-and-die operations, and maintenance machining departments are the primary users.
Designed for use in any milling machine or CNC machining center equipped with a 1.25-inch straight-shank toolholder. Confirm spindle taper, holder bore, and machine rigidity are appropriate for a 2-inch diameter cobalt end mill before use.
Installation requires a properly sized end mill holder or collet chuck rated for a 1.25-inch shank diameter. Ensure the toolholder and spindle are clean and free of debris before seating the tool. Because this is a non-centercutting end mill, avoid direct plunge cuts into solid material. A licensed machinist or qualified machine operator should verify speeds, feeds, and depth-of-cut parameters before running production.
