The HERTEL E299914047 is a cobalt square end mill designed for milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers heat and wear resistance suited to harder workpiece materials. The cutter measures 7/8 inch in diameter with a 1-7/8 inch length of cut and a 4-inch overall length. Four spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The bright, uncoated finish keeps the tool ready for use as delivered. This is a single-end, right-hand cutting tool with a 1/2 inch shank diameter.
This end mill is used in general machining operations including side milling, slotting, and profiling on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The M42 cobalt grade makes it well suited for stainless steel, alloy steel, cast iron, and other tough materials where standard high-speed steel tools lose edge life prematurely. It is a regular-length tool appropriate for most standard knee mills, CNC vertical machining centers, and manual milling machines where a 1/2 inch tool holder or collet is available. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry as well as conventional milling paths.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for any milling machine, CNC machining center, or manual mill equipped with a 1/2 inch tool holder, collet chuck, or end mill holder accepting regular-length square end mills.
Installation is performed by machining professionals and toolroom technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention hardware according to the tool holder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, and confirm tool runout is within acceptable limits before beginning a cut.
