The HERTEL E2110032 is a cobalt ball end mill designed for milling contoured surfaces, slots, and complex profiles in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, this single-end tool delivers good toughness and heat resistance in demanding cutting applications. The ball nose geometry produces smooth, radius-bottom cuts essential for die work, mold cavities, and 3D contouring. With a 30-degree helix angle and two spiral flutes, it offers a balance of chip evacuation and surface finish. The bright, uncoated finish suits applications where coating chemistry is a concern or where re-sharpening is anticipated. This is a regular-length tool with a 0.5-inch diameter and a right-hand cutting direction.
This end mill is suited for use in vertical machining centers, CNC knee mills, and manual mills equipped with appropriate collet or end mill holders. Typical applications include roughing and semi-finishing passes on mold and die components, aerospace fixtures, and general precision machining work. The 0.5-inch shank diameter fits standard ER and straight-bore toolholders commonly found in job shops and production environments. The single-end configuration makes it a direct candidate for regrinding services when the cutting edge wears.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling selection for machining operations requiring a 0.5-inch diameter ball end mill with a 0.5-inch shank in conventional or CNC milling setups.
Installation is performed by a machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into a clean, undamaged collet or end mill holder and torque the retention nut to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edges and shank for runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut.
