The HERTEL E2053036 is a cobalt square end mill designed for milling, slotting, and profiling operations on a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers heat resistance and edge retention that standard HSS tooling cannot match. The double-end configuration provides two usable cutting ends, extending tool life per unit. With a 0.5625-inch cutting diameter, a 1.375-inch length of cut, and a 30-degree helix angle on a right-hand spiral flute, this end mill produces efficient chip evacuation and smooth side-wall finishes. It arrives uncoated and centercutting, making it suitable for both plunge and peripheral cutting operations. Machinists and toolroom operators are the primary users.
This end mill fits standard milling machines, CNC machining centers, and manual knee mills equipped with an R8, CAT, or comparable toolholder accepting a 0.625-inch shank diameter. It is suited for general-purpose metalworking in job shops, maintenance facilities, and production environments. The regular-length geometry at 5.0 inches overall length keeps deflection low during side milling passes. Its centercutting capability makes it effective for pocketing operations where a plunge entry cut is required before ramping or contouring.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit tooling option for milling operations requiring a 0.625-inch shank diameter and a 0.5625-inch cutting diameter in a regular-length, 4-flute cobalt square end mill.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel. Before mounting, ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the drawbar or retention knob is properly torqued per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify the shank is clean and free of chips or burrs before seating in the collet or end mill holder. Always confirm spindle rotation direction matches the right-hand cut designation before engaging the workpiece.
