The HERTEL E2039026 is a cobalt square end mill designed for ferrous and hard-material milling in production and job-shop environments. It features a 13/32-inch (0.4063-inch) mill diameter, four flutes, and a 30-degree helix angle that balances chip evacuation with cutting stability. The flutes run in a right-hand spiral with a right-hand cutting direction, and the tool is centercutting, allowing plunge entry into the workpiece. Material grade M42 cobalt construction provides elevated heat resistance compared to standard HSS, making this end mill well-suited for tougher workpiece materials. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers of this tool.
This end mill fits conventional vertical and horizontal milling machines, CNC machining centers, and manual knee mills that accept a 3/8-inch shank. The 1-inch length of cut (LOC) accommodates shoulder milling, slotting, and contouring at moderate depths. The 2-11/16-inch overall length (OAL) provides enough clearance for standard work-holding setups without excessive overhang. The bright/uncoated finish is compatible with cutting fluids and coolant systems typically used in steel and stainless milling operations. No extended-reach geometry is present, keeping the tool rigid for standard-depth applications.
Designed as a standard 3/8-inch shank square end mill for use in collet chucks, end mill holders, and other toolholding systems that accept 3/8-inch round shanks on milling machines and CNC machining centers.
Installation is performed by machinists and toolroom professionals. Power down the spindle and confirm the machine is in a locked, de-energized state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or toolholder and tighten to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the collet or holder for wear before use, as runout caused by a worn holder will reduce tool life and surface finish quality.
