The HERTEL E2034064 is a cobalt square end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers heat and wear resistance that holds up in demanding cuts where standard HSS tools lose edge life. The 1-inch diameter cutter runs 4 spiral flutes at a 30-degree right-hand helix, producing efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. With a 4-inch length of cut and a 6.5-inch overall length, this is a long-series configuration suited to deeper pockets, slots, and side-milling passes that shorter stub or standard tools cannot reach. It is uncoated and arrives ready to use.
This end mill fits production and job-shop machining environments running manual knee mills, CNC vertical machining centers, and horizontal mills. The long-series reach makes it a practical choice when workpiece geometry requires extended tool projection, such as deep cavity work, tall workpieces held in vises, or fixtures that prevent a shorter tool from accessing the full depth of cut. The 1-inch shank seats directly in R8 collets, CAT40 or BT40 end mill holders, or any holder bored to 1 inch. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is the standard spindle-forward orientation. This tool is not center-cutting and is not intended for plunge entry.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use cutting tool for milling machines accepting a 1-inch shank end mill holder, compatible with standard CAT40, BT40, R8, and equivalent tooling systems bored to 1 inch.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup personnel. Power down and lock out the spindle before seating or removing the tool from its holder. Torque the end mill holder drawbar or set screws to the machine and holder specification. Because this tool is not center-cutting, always enter the cut from the workpiece edge or use a pre-drilled hole for pocket work. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping to minimize premature wear and chatter.
