The HERTEL E2034024 is a 4-flute cobalt square end mill designed for milling steel, stainless steel, and other ferrous materials in demanding production and job-shop environments. Constructed from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers improved heat and wear resistance compared to standard M2 tooling. The cutter measures 0.375 inches in diameter with a 1.5-inch length of cut and a 3.25-inch overall length. A 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces. The uncoated finish makes it easy to resharpen, extending tool life in appropriate applications. Installation is handled by machinists and CNC operators in metalworking shops.
This end mill fits standard milling machines, machining centers, and CNC mills using 3/8-inch collets, end mill holders, or set-screw style tool holders. The long-series length of cut range of 1.5 to 2.0 inches suits applications requiring extended reach into pockets, slots, and step features. Right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute geometry is compatible with conventional spindle rotation. The single-end configuration is typical for indexing and reconditioning workflows. This tool is suited for slotting, peripheral milling, and plunge cuts in ferrous workpieces where cobalt tooling is specified.
Designed for use in standard 3/8-inch end mill holders, collet chucks, and set-screw holders on manual mills and CNC machining centers. Long-series fitment covers length-of-cut requirements from 1.5 to 2.0 inches.
Secure the shank fully within the tool holder to the minimum clamping depth recommended by the holder manufacturer before engaging the spindle. Verify spindle rotation direction is right-hand before starting the cut. Inspect the collet or holder bore for chips and wear before each tool change to maintain runout within acceptable limits. This tool does not include centercutting geometry and should not be used for direct plunge drilling without a pre-drilled entry.
