The HERTEL E2031919 is a solid cobalt square end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Manufactured from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it provides increased heat resistance and edge retention compared to standard HSS tooling. The cutter features a 1 inch diameter with a 1.875 inch length of cut and a right-hand spiral flute geometry at a 30-degree helix angle. With 4 flutes and an uncoated finish, this end mill suits applications where re-sharpening is required or where coatings may not be preferred. It is installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in vertical mills, knee mills, and CNC machining centers.
This end mill is suited for slotting, peripheral milling, and profiling in shop and production environments. The 0.75 inch shank diameter fits standard R8, CAT, BT, and other common toolholders sized for 3/4 inch shank. With a regular-length classification and a 4.125 inch overall length, it fits within typical reach envelopes on vertical mills without requiring extended-reach tooling. The non-centercutting design means it is not intended for direct plunge cuts and requires a pre-drilled entry point or ramping strategy when full-depth entry is needed.
Designed as an OEM-style solid-shank end mill for use in standard 3/4 inch bore milling chucks, collet holders, and side-lock arbors on vertical knee mills and CNC machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. The tool shank must be seated to the full recommended engagement depth in the toolholder and secured according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications before spindle operation. Inspect the shank and cutting edges for damage before each use. Do not exceed the rated speed and feed parameters for cobalt HSS tooling in the workpiece material being machined.
