The HERTEL E2030905 is a 2-flute cobalt square end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers heat and wear resistance suited to interrupted cuts, harder steels, and demanding shop floor conditions. The cutter features a 0.75 inch mill diameter, a 1.3125 inch length of cut, and a 5/8 inch shank diameter, making it a regular-length tool with balanced rigidity and reach. The 30-degree spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. This uncoated end mill ships ready to run and is installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on vertical mills, knee mills, and CNC machining centers.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations in a wide range of shop environments, including job shops, maintenance and repair operations, and production machining. The centercutting design allows direct plunge entry, adding flexibility for pocketing and ramp-entry operations. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration match standard spindle rotation on conventional and CNC vertical milling machines. Its regular length-of-cut range of 1.25 to 1.5 inches keeps deflection low during heavier passes.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct application cobalt square end mill for use in standard 5/8 inch collets or end mill holders on vertical and CNC milling machines.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the drawbar or collet nut is properly torqued before beginning a cut. Confirm that the 5/8 inch shank is fully seated in the holder with adequate engagement length to prevent pullout. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine manufacturer guidelines when setting feeds, speeds, and depth of cut for the workpiece material.
