The HERTEL E2030032 is a cobalt square end mill designed for milling operations in a wide range of metalworking applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, this single-end tool features a 0.5-inch cutting diameter, a 1-inch length of cut, and a 3-inch overall length with a 0.5-inch straight shank. The 30-degree right-hand spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation while maintaining cutting edge strength. With two flutes and a centercutting design, this end mill is capable of both peripheral and plunge cuts. It is uncoated and suited for use in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where cobalt's heat resistance provides a clear advantage over standard HSS tooling.
This end mill fits standard milling operations in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments. The regular-length configuration makes it appropriate for general-purpose slotting, profiling, and face milling on manual mills and CNC machining centers. The 0.5-inch shank diameter is compatible with standard ER collets, end mill holders, and Weldon-style tool holders used in both vertical and horizontal milling setups. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation follow conventional milling standards for most machine spindle configurations.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or direct-use cobalt square end mill for standard 0.5-inch shank tool holders including ER collet chucks, Weldon flat shank holders, and end mill adapters on manual and CNC milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard tool-holding procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before loading or removing the end mill. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the manufacturer-recommended engagement depth before tightening set screws or collet nuts. Verify runout with a dial indicator after tool installation and before beginning any cut.
