The HERTEL E2030016 is a 2-flute cobalt square end mill designed for general-purpose milling in a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers greater heat resistance and edge retention compared to standard HSS tooling. The cutter measures 0.25 inches in diameter with a 0.5-inch length of cut, a 0.375-inch shank diameter, and a 2.3125-inch overall length. The 30-degree right-hand spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. This is a centercutting end mill, allowing plunge entry directly into the workpiece. It ships uncoated and is suited for manual machines and CNC machining centers alike.
This end mill is a standard fit for light to moderate milling operations including slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar materials. The 0.375-inch shank seats in standard ER or straight-bore collet systems commonly found on knee mills, bed mills, and vertical machining centers. The regular-length configuration keeps it rigid for applications where deflection control matters. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in job shops, maintenance departments, and production environments will find this a reliable general-purpose choice.
Designed for use in standard 0.375-inch collet or straight-bore tool holders on vertical knee mills, bed mills, and CNC machining centers. No specific OEM system compatibility was provided with this product.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom professional. Always power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the recommended engagement depth and torque the collet nut according to the tool holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut to protect both the tool and the workpiece.
