The HERTEL E2020008 is a single-end cobalt ball end mill designed for milling contoured surfaces, slots, and three-dimensional profiles in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers heat resistance and edge retention in demanding cutting applications. The ball-nose geometry produces a full-radius cutting profile at the tip, making it well suited for finishing passes on curved surfaces. With a 0.125 inch diameter, a 0.375 inch length of cut, and a 30-degree right-hand helix, this end mill is used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on manual mills, CNC machining centers, and die/mold work.
This end mill fits standard milling operations where a small-diameter ball nose is required for detail work, radius profiling, or finishing in tight geometries. The 0.375 inch shank diameter provides rigid tool holding in collet chucks and end mill holders. The 2.3125 inch overall length keeps the tool compact for stability in short-reach setups. Four flutes improve surface finish and feed rate capability compared to two-flute designs, making this tool appropriate for finish milling in steel, cast iron, and similar materials. It is shipped as a single unit and is intended for professional machining environments.
Designed as a standard-shank single-end ball end mill compatible with collet chucks and end mill holders accepting a 0.375 inch shank diameter on manual mills and CNC machining centers.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. The spindle must be fully stopped and the machine powered down before inserting or removing the end mill from the tool holder. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the collet or set-screw holder is torqued according to the machine tool manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each use and confirm proper tool runout with a dial indicator after mounting.
