The HERTEL E199921265 is a single-end square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal fabrication and machining environments. Manufactured from high speed steel, this tool features a 17/64 inch (0.2656 inch) cutting diameter with a 9/16 inch length of cut, making it well suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in tighter clearance applications. The 2-flute configuration promotes efficient chip evacuation, which is critical when cutting softer metals and non-ferrous materials. A 30-degree right-hand spiral helix and right-hand cutting direction deliver smooth, consistent cutting action. The bright, uncoated finish is standard for general-purpose HSS tooling. Installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in both manual and CNC mill setups.
This end mill is suited for light-duty to medium-duty milling applications in job shop, production, and maintenance machining environments. The 3/8 inch shank diameter fits standard collets and end mill holders commonly found on knee mills, vertical machining centers, and CNC routers. The centercutting design allows plunge cutting in addition to standard peripheral and slot milling. With a 2-1/2 inch overall length, it provides adequate reach for most standard workpiece setups without excessive overhang. Typical materials include aluminum, brass, mild steel, and plastics.
Designed as a standard replacement or stock end mill for machine shops using 3/8 inch collets or end mill holders on vertical knee mills, manual mills, or CNC machining centers requiring a 17/64 inch diameter 2-flute HSS single-end square end mill.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolholding procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder to the recommended minimum engagement depth before torquing the drawbar or collet nut. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer-recommended spindle speeds and feed rates for the workpiece material.
