The HERTEL E1053020 is a double-end, square-profile end mill designed for milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and composites. Manufactured from M7 high speed steel, it delivers consistent edge retention in general-purpose machining applications. The tool measures 0.3125 inches in diameter with a 0.75-inch length of cut and a 3.5-inch overall length. A 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation while maintaining cutting stability. The 3/8-inch shank diameter accommodates standard end mill holders and collet chucks found on vertical mills, knee mills, and CNC machining centers. With four flutes and a spiral flute geometry, this tool is suited for finishing and light roughing passes where surface finish matters.
This end mill is used in job shop, toolroom, and maintenance machining environments. It is appropriate for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations on mild steel, aluminum, brass, and similar materials. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, expanding the range of operations without requiring a pre-drilled start hole. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration follows the standard spindle rotation on most vertical milling machines. The double-end configuration provides a second usable cutting end, extending tool life before replacement is required.
Designed as a standard replacement or production end mill for use in any end mill holder, collet chuck, or Weldon-style holder accepting a 3/8-inch shank diameter on vertical mills and CNC machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Secure the shank to the minimum recommended engagement depth in the holder to prevent pullout under cutting loads. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines for speeds and feeds based on workpiece material and depth of cut.
