The HERTEL E1052016 is a double-end, three-flute square end mill manufactured from M7 high speed steel. It is designed for general-purpose milling operations including slotting, profiling, and peripheral cutting on ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. With a 0.25-inch cutting diameter, a 0.625-inch length of cut, and a 30-degree helix angle, this tool delivers efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting action. The uncoated finish makes it well suited for applications where re-sharpening is a routine part of tool maintenance. Machinists and toolroom operators working in job shops, maintenance departments, or production environments will find this a dependable general-duty cutter.
This end mill fits standard milling machines, CNC machining centers, and manual knee mills that accept a 0.375-inch shank. The 3-3/8-inch overall length places it in the regular-length category, making it appropriate for setups that do not require extended reach. Its centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry into the workpiece without a pre-drilled hole, which adds setup flexibility. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration is the standard orientation for the majority of vertical milling applications in general metalworking shops.
Designed as a standard replacement or stock cutter for milling machines and machining centers that accept a 0.375-inch round shank, appropriate for regular-length end mill applications in general metalworking and toolroom use.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician using an appropriate end mill holder, collet chuck, or Weldon-style side-lock holder sized for a 0.375-inch shank. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the power is locked out before changing or seating the tool. Confirm runout with a dial indicator after clamping before beginning a cut. Follow your machine manufacturer guidelines for feed rate and depth of cut based on workpiece material and rigidity of the setup.
