The HERTEL E1051038 is a double-end, 4-flute square end mill ground from M7 high speed steel. It carries a 19/32-inch (0.5938 inch) cutting diameter with a 1-3/8-inch length of cut and a 5/8-inch shank diameter, giving a total overall length of 5 inches. The spiral flute geometry runs at a 30-degree helix angle with right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation. The uncoated finish is standard for M7 HSS tooling used across a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. This tool is sized in the regular-length category and is intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on manual mills and CNC machining centers.
This end mill suits general-purpose milling operations including slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in job shop and production environments. The 4-flute configuration offers a balance between chip evacuation and surface finish on full-slot and side-milling passes. The double-end design extends tool life by providing two usable cutting ends, making it a practical choice for high-volume shops managing tooling costs. It is appropriate for use on steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar materials where uncoated HSS tooling is acceptable per shop process standards.
Designed as a standard-shank square end mill compatible with 5/8-inch collets, end mill holders, and Weldon-style tool holders on vertical milling machines and CNC machining centers accepting that shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Secure the shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder and verify runout before cutting. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before tool changes. Feeds, speeds, and depth of cut should be set per the material being machined and the machine tool specifications — do not exceed the tool manufacturer recommended parameters for HSS tooling in the given workpiece material.
