The HERTEL E1051020 is a double-end, square profile end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. Manufactured from M7 high speed steel, it features a 5/16 inch cutting diameter, a 3/4 inch length of cut, and a 3/8 inch shank diameter for compatibility with standard collet and end mill holders. The 30-degree spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation, while the right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration suits the majority of vertical and horizontal milling setups. Four flutes provide a balance of chip clearance and surface finish in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The uncoated finish keeps resharpening straightforward.
This end mill is suited for slot milling, peripheral milling, and light profiling operations on CNC machining centers, manual knee mills, and benchtop milling machines. The regular-length geometry makes it appropriate for general production work where extended reach is not required. The double-end design allows both cutting ends to be used, extending tool life between replacements. It is a common choice for job shops, maintenance departments, and toolrooms working with steel, aluminum, brass, and similar materials at conventional cutting speeds.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct drop-in for standard 3/8 inch shank end mill holders and collet chucks used in vertical milling machines and CNC machining centers requiring a 5/16 inch square end mill.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention hardware to the machine manufacturer specifications. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut. Note that this tool is not centercutting and is not intended for direct plunge entry into solid material.
