The HERTEL E1051009 is a double-end square end mill ground from M7 high speed steel and designed for milling ferrous and non-ferrous materials in light to medium-duty machining operations. With a 9/64 inch (0.1406 inch) cutting diameter and a 7/16 inch (0.4375 inch) length of cut, this tool handles slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in confined workspaces where small-diameter tooling is required. The 30-degree right-hand spiral helix promotes efficient chip evacuation, and the bright uncoated finish suits general-purpose applications where coating is not a requirement. Installation and use are handled by machinists and toolroom technicians working on CNC or manual milling equipment.
This end mill is suited for use in vertical machining centers, knee mills, and manual milling machines where small-diameter tooling is needed for detail work, stepped features, or narrow slots. The double-end configuration provides two usable cutting ends, extending tool life per unit. The 3/8 inch shank diameter fits standard collets and end mill holders common in most shop environments. Typical applications include mold and die work, fixture fabrication, and general metalworking where a regular-length, four-flute square end geometry is required.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or standard-stock square end mill for use in any milling machine or machining center accepting a 3/8 inch straight shank with collet or end mill holder.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the milling machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the 3/8 inch shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention hardware per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before taking cuts, especially at small diameters where deflection and runout have a proportionally greater effect on tool life and surface finish.
